The holiday season is a time for giving, connection, and compassion—and this year, our community has a special opportunity to make a meaningful difference. The Starting Point Giving Tree invites neighbors, families, and friends to come together in support of victims and survivors, as well as their children, right here in Carroll County.
When you visit the Starting Point Giving Tree, you’ll be welcomed to choose a peace crane to keep, a small but powerful symbol of hope and healing. Attached to each crane is a specific gift request for a survivor or a child currently supported by Starting Point. Simply take a crane, fulfill the wish, and bring the requested gift back by the final collection date.
🎁 Final Collection Date: December 14
These donated gifts—whether clothing, toys, comfort items, or household essentials—offer much more than material support. They send a clear message to survivors: You matter. You are supported. Your community stands beside you.
Starting Point works tirelessly throughout the year to provide free and confidential services to individuals affected by domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Their trauma-informed services include crisis intervention, emergency shelter, court and hospital advocacy, safety planning, educational outreach, and support for children who have witnessed or experienced violence. This essential work is only strengthened by the compassion and generosity of community members.
By participating in the Giving Tree, you help ensure that survivors and their families feel remembered, valued, and cared for during a season that can often be difficult and emotionally complex for those impacted by violence.
