A Blooming Welcome: Explore the New Pollinator Garden at Chocorua Public Library
We’re buzzing with excitement at Chocorua Public Library—our brand-new pollinator garden is in full bloom! Thanks to a recent landscaping update, the front of the library now features a vibrant, pollinator-friendly garden designed to support butterflies, bees, and other essential garden visitors. This new space doesn’t just beautify our entrance—it invites curiosity, inspires stewardship, and provides a living learning space for all ages.
To celebrate, our team has put together two beautiful book displays inside the library—one for children and one for adults—featuring garden-themed stories and resources that tie directly to the new landscape outside.
🌿 For kids and families, explore titles like:
- The Curious Garden by Peter Brown – a story of greening gray spaces. See on Goodreads
- Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney – a gentle classic about spreading beauty. See on Goodreads
- Seed Leaf Flower Fruit by Maryse Guittet – a visual guide to plant life cycles.
- The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett – a timeless tale of healing and horticulture. See on Goodreads
📚 And for adults who are looking to grow something new—literally or literarily—we’ve included some garden-themed fiction and nonfiction:
- The Garden of Small Beginnings by Abbi Waxman – a witty, heartfelt novel about grief, growth, and the therapeutic power of gardening. See on Goodreads
- The Heirloom Garden by Viola Shipman – a multigenerational story about loss, resilience, and flower symbolism. See on Goodreads
- The Backyard Homestead and The Flower Gardener’s Bible – excellent practical guides for turning your own plot into a pollinator paradise.
Stop by to browse our new displays, enjoy the fresh landscaping, and be inspired by the stories blooming both inside and out. 🌸
