Once Upon a Story Hour Celebrates Storytelling and Hands-On Learning with Martha Washington at Chocorua Public Library
Get ready for an afternoon of storytelling, creativity, and hands-on learning at the Chocorua Public Library! Join us on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM for a special visit from Once Upon a Story Hour, featuring a brand-new character—Martha Washington!
This is the first appearance of Martha Washington in the Once Upon a Story Hour series, and we’re thrilled to bring her to life for this special Independence Day-themed event. Through engaging storytelling, families will learn about the birth of our nation, the values it was founded on, and the vital role Martha played during the Revolutionary War.
Our focus lesson asks: What do you know about Independence Day? Children will be invited to explore the meaning behind the holiday, guided by our nation’s original First Lady in full costume and character.
After the story time, kids will participate in a festive hands-on learning activity—creating their very own stars and stripes plaque to take home. It’s a perfect blend of creativity and education, wrapped up in patriotic fun!
This event is part of a monthly storytelling series held on the last Sunday of each month, making it a wonderful tradition for families to enjoy together. Each session features a new character, theme, and activity—so there’s always something fresh and exciting to discover!
This program is fun for all ages, and no registration is required. Just bring your curiosity and creativity!
📅 Be sure to check out our calendar of events for more upcoming programs and activities at the Chocorua Public Library. We look forward to welcoming you for this memorable celebration of Independence Day and the debut of Martha Washington!
