Celebrate Summer with Picnic-scapes at Chocorua Public Library and Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm

Summer is the perfect time to explore the creativity, history, and community spirit that make the Mount Washington Valley so special. The Chocorua Public Library is proud to be one of the participating organizations in Picnic-scapes, a unique community-wide celebration hosted by Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm in Tamworth, New Hampshire.

From July 1 through July 31, visitors are invited to stop by the Chocorua Public Library to enjoy our specially created Picnic-scapes display. Inspired by the charm and nostalgia of summertime picnics, our display celebrates the joy of gathering together, the beauty of handmade artistry, and the importance of community connections.

One of the highlights of our display is the incredible collection of crocheted creations handcrafted by our talented Assistant Librarian, Donna Coco. Every crocheted item featured in the display was lovingly made by Donna, whose creativity and attention to detail have transformed our display into a whimsical summer scene. Her handcrafted work showcases the artistry and dedication that help make our library a welcoming place for visitors of all ages.

While you’re exploring Picnic-scapes, be sure to visit Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm, where the celebration continues with imaginative displays and special events throughout the month. One event you won’t want to miss is Pastures, Picnics, and the Past: A BYO Picnic Gathering, taking place on Saturday, July 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., rain or shine.

This free, family-friendly event invites everyone to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy dining outdoors with fellow picnic lovers. Guests are encouraged to bring vintage picnic ware, dress in classic picnicking attire, or bring an acoustic instrument to share music with others. Bottled water and fresh-popped popcorn will be available for purchase while supplies last, and no registration is required.

Whether you’re a longtime resident or visiting the area, Picnic-scapes offers a wonderful opportunity to discover local organizations, celebrate creativity, and enjoy some of the best family-friendly activities in the Tamworth and Chocorua area. We invite you to visit the Chocorua Public Library throughout July, admire Donna Coco’s beautiful handcrafted display, and continue your Picnic-scapes adventure at Remick Country Doctor Museum & Farm.

We look forward to welcoming you this summer and celebrating the creativity, community, and traditions that make New Hampshire such a wonderful place to explore.
